The Senate ’ s appeal followed a motion by the committee chairman on tertiary institutions and TETFUND , Senator Barau Jibril ( Kano North) .
Barau said there was need for federal government to resolve all contending issues of ASUU and to result to amicable resolution.
On his part , Senator Shehu Sani ( Kaduna Central ) noted that ASUU strike was a national problem which has led to suffering of lecturers and students.
According to him, the issues raised by ASUU are genuine and in the interest of the development of education and not to be seen as act of confrontation .
